For this post, I will say use 301 to redirect old traffic to a new site or new content page. You may also use the 301 redirect to point a domain to a Website so as to build the link juice up on one site rather dilute over many. The following comment below is geared towards the use of anchor text and 301…

Wow, not sure how to call it. Is it good or bad for the website seeing as curiosity tends to get people clicking. In my opinion it may be a plus and affordable advertising. Of course it only helps if your the only site with the red ink.

First and foremost keep in mind that a brand is more than a tangible item. It’s the overall impression and emotional attachment to your company or product. It can range from a catchy phrase, commercials or actual product satisfaction.

When branding a domain as so many sellers of domains claim on ebay(?), it’s more than a name folks! Branding the web is getting more competitive each minute, hour and day. You may have a great domain name, but getting it in the minds of the consumer involves innovative and basic marketing savvy. A great book on getting a grasp of this can be found here.

No booyah for me today, just when you expect to at least gain a place in an auction for a dropped domain. The domain was safedata.com and was set to be released Aug. 5, 2007. I got wind of a new player goitalydomains.com who proceeded to snag this lucrative domain. I was so hoping to at least bid on it even though the domain lacked any traffic from its long existance. The name speaks for itself and would have fetched a decent amount given a couple of years. Yet another lucky name lost. Maybe backordering with Godaddy works.
