First and foremost keep in mind that a brand is more than a tangible item. It’s the overall impression and emotional attachment to your company or product. It can range from a catchy phrase, commercials or actual product satisfaction.

When branding a domain as so many sellers of domains claim on ebay(?), it’s more than a name folks! Branding the web is getting more competitive each minute, hour and day. You may have a great domain name, but getting it in the minds of the consumer involves innovative and basic marketing savvy. A great book on getting a grasp of this can be found here.

Flock Browser & Web 2.0

I recently came across Flock again, this time I downloaded. To my surprise it was full of nice features that peek the interest of web savy surfers. Especially the social network community will find this to be a great asset. See the brief company profile:

Tivo competition?

Maybe not a competitor, but Take.tv is looking great with the available hardware/software combo. This company will provide the service of a device that can download Internet media and then attach to your TV for viewing. The device comes equipped with a remote for navigating through your media. All in one.

Cradle with integrated cables
AC power adapter

As for the website, the domain was purchased on Sept. 11, 2007. Brand spanking new and ready to roll. As with any new website I review, it will remain to be seen how well they position their product. It’s unfortunate that some of the venture capitalist maybe kicking themselves for vesting millions into defunct startups. TakeTV seems to be a great tool to launch onto the global market. Yes, the title may give you a reason to read why you do not want a free website from Weebly. However, after digging a little more I found the above title lead to ellusive article reprints across various free article websites. So, what does all this mean? My point here is to address the free website Weebly.com and their attempt to lure the average Joe into building a website for free. The articles may attempt to enforce a negative opinion, rather, it’s an attempt to endorse the service via SEO tactics (And I certainly approve.) Read the last paragraph in some of the articles, the links will direct you to a silly service from TakeOnTheNet.com, which will charge you how to learn to use a free service that bases their whole existance on how easy it is to build your own website. Yes, it’s easy. In my opinion the Weebly.com service will eliminate the cheap web designers littered across the web. The below link refines the search for websites with weebly and benefits as keywords, this is what pulled up:

I’m still scratching my head as to why Weebly.com is even in business. There downfall will be the eventual revenue stream they must establish in order to be feasible. The jury is still out on this one. We can’t have everything for free, just look at Google!

I’m excited that a comment came about this article. Weebly must provide some benefit to many on the Internet. Maybe I’ll start my own pay-to-learn website!
