First and foremost keep in mind that a brand is more than a tangible item. It’s the overall impression and emotional attachment to your company or product. It can range from a catchy phrase, commercials or actual product satisfaction.

When branding a domain as so many sellers of domains claim on ebay(?), it’s more than a name folks! Branding the web is getting more competitive each minute, hour and day. You may have a great domain name, but getting it in the minds of the consumer involves innovative and basic marketing savvy. A great book on getting a grasp of this can be found here.

For those of you who already do this, no need to read further. However, if you’re new and have a couple of domains just sitting in space then look into parking the domain and possibly earning from typed in traffic.

I’m always looking for new marketing options, but only comes with the business if your holding domains. While I have several hundred domains, the big guys have several to over 12K domains that must earn traffic revenue. Keep in mind that the more you own, the more you owe in annual fees. So, be creative when buying and promoting.

Domainer Conference Paris

Nice show of domains, however, the price point was a little low. My highlight was to see how .vg would fare with the bids. Not surprising to see little takers. Yet, a thousand bucks is great profit for holding on a domain for a short period.

I mention .vg since I hold several myself with great single keywords. I’m holding for the fruits of my labor (holding) later!
